Pathibhara Devi Temple

Pathibhara Devi Temple is one of Nepal's most revered Hindu and Buddhist shrines, located in the Taplejung district of eastern Nepal. Sitting at an altitude of 3,794 meters, it is a major pilgrimage site where thousands of devotees hike to worship the goddess and seek the fulfillment of their long-held desires. Key Highlights Significance: Also known as Mukkumlung by the local Limbu community, the temple is revered as a Shakti Peeth. Pilgrims believe the goddess answers prayers for health, wealth, and children. The Journey: The trek usually begins from Phungling or Suketar (which has a STOL airport). The hike up spans roughly 15 to 20 kilometers, taking 8 to 10 hours depending on your pace, traversing through rhododendron forests and offering stunning views of Mt. Kanchenjunga. Best Time to Visit: The ideal seasons for the trek are pre-monsoon (March to May) and post-monsoon (September to December).
